Envisaging increased awareness and employment generation through agricultural activities for all sections of the Society, Shri Radha Mohan Singh, Union Agriculture Minister started a drive in East Champaran today. A series of Kisan Gosthies and interactions with farmers were conducted at various locations by the Minister. The events were organized by State Agriculture Department including ATMA, East Champaran at Siswa Bajar, Paharpur Parnchayat; Kotua Bajar, Harsidhi Panchayat; and Nawada village, Sangrampur.
Union Agriculture initiated intensive drive to agriculture development in East Champaran
Agriculture Minister while addressing the farmers, in the Kisan Gosthies suggested that the farmers particularly with small land holding and even landless people to come forward and undertake training to initiate mushroom cultivation, fish culture, bee-keeping and compost preparation. He also apprised about the various government schemes and policy support for making it operational.
Scientists from NRC on Litchi, Muzaffarpur; Progamme Coordinator, KVK; Government Officers of line departments imparted training to the participating farmers and entrepreneurs. More than 300 farmers attended the Kisan Gosthies and interactions took place among scientists/ officers and participating farmers. Farmers expressed their views and problems pertaining to their field and interacted with Agriculture Minister.
