Meeting of Secretary (DARE) & DG (ICAR) with Secretary (DSIR) & DG (CSIR)

The 3rd Meeting of Joint Steering Committee of ICAR-CSIR Collaborative Programme was held under the Co-Chairmanship of Dr. Trilochan Mohapatra, Secretary (DARE) & DG (ICAR) and Dr. Shekhar C. Mande, Secretary (DSIR) & DG (CSIR) at the Anusandhan Bhawan here today. The Meeting was held as per the new initiative of the Prime Minister to strengthen the common activities in the welfare of farmers of the country after utilizing the minimum resources.
Dr. Mohapatra thanked Dr. Mande for the successful collaboration and progress made in the last three Years in the area of cotton research and national registry of the improved varieties between the two Organizations. He also suggested that the separate Meetings of the Scientists, concerned of both the Organizations may be organized to finalize the future Work Plan and timeline for the better utilization of the resources and thanked Dr. Mande for his continuous support to make the collaboration between the two Scientific Organizations successful.
Dr. Mande appreciated the progress made on the collaborative activities of CSIR & ICAR. He also thanked for the successful collaboration and wished great success for the future endeavours.
Dr. Ashok Kumar Singh, Deputy Director General (Agricultural Extension), ICAR; Dr. Tilak Raj Sharma, Deputy Director General (Crop Science), ICAR; Dr. Anand Kumar Singh, Deputy Director General (Horticultural Science), ICAR and Dr. R.K. Singh, ADG (CC & FFC), ICAR along with Dr. K.V. Prasad, Director, ICAR-DFR along with Dr. Vibha Malhotra Sawhney, Scientist ‘H’ & Head, IPU; Dr. Meenakshi Singh, Chief Scientist (TMD); Dr. Saroj K. Barik, Director, NBRI and other Directors, concerned from CSIR Institutes also participated in the Meeting.
During the Meeting, the presentations were made on the activities carried out under the Cotton & Aroma Mission, Floriculture, Seaweed, New Variety Registration and Precision Agriculture for the future collaboration. Matter was discussed at length and future activities of collaboration have been identified for the development of the new products to open the new avenues for export.
The progress of the ongoing collaborative activities between the two Organizations was also reviewed during the occasion.
