KVKs Showcased Modern Technologies
Dr. S. Ayyappan, Secretary, DARE and Director General, ICAR visited KVK Ujjain (M.P.) under ZPD Zone-VII on 22nd February 2014. He observed the crop cafeteria having important varieties of wheat, chickpea and mustard. He appreciated roof water harvesting system, vermin compost pit and nutritional garden favoring small holder and women for income and nutritional security. He took feedback of KMA during his visit to the E-lab established under e-linkage project of ICAR. Dr. Ayyappan inaugurated the exhibition arranged by KVKs of Jhabua, Dhar, Dewas and Shajapur. During the interface he felicitated seven national, state and district awarded farmers.
In his address, Dr. A.K. Singh, Vice Chancellor, Rajmata Vijayaraje Scindia Krishi Vishwavidyalaya (RVSKVV), Gwalior focused on the need of working in collaborative manner to achieve the higher growth rate of agriculture in Madhya Pradesh.
Dr. Anupam Mishra, ZPD, Zone-VII presented the success points of KVK-ATMA Convergence model in Madhya Pradesh.
Over 150 stakeholders including 90 farmers, 10 farm women from various districts and 30 KVK scientists participated in the programme.
Dr. Rajiv Umat, Programme Coordinator, KVK Ujjain; Dr. S.R.K. Singh, Sr. Scientist, ZPD Zone VII; Dr. D.S. Tomar, Dr. Prem Chand, Dr. S.K. Kaushik, Dr. Rekha Tiwari, Er. Lalit Jain, Smt. Ghazala Khan and Sh.R. Gawali were also present on the occasion.
