Aeroponic Facility Inaugurated at CPRI

Shri Arvind Kaushal, Additional Secretary, DARE and Secretary, ICAR inaugurated the Aeroponic facility-II for disease free seed production at Central Potato Research Institute (CPRI), Shimla on 16th November, 2013.

While addressing the scientific and other staffs of the institute, Shri Kaushal lauded the efforts of CPRI in increasing potato production in the country. He also praised the institute for establishing a seed potato production system in the country.

Dr. K.D. Kokate, Deputy Director General (Extension), ICAR and Dr. A.M. Narula, Zonal Project Director, Zone-I, Ludhiana Were also present on the occasion.

Dignitaries also visited different laboratories and reviewed the work done by CPRI in the field of potato research and development.

Earlier, Dr. N.K. Pandey, Officiating Director, CPRI informed that this new technology will help farmers in future by increasing the availability of disease free potato seed in the country, while Dr. P.M. Govindakrishanan, Project Coordinator, AICRP (Potato) briefed the gathering about the activities and achievements of the institute.
