Administrative Building of Zonal Project Directorate, Zone-I Inaugurated

Dr. S. Ayyappan, Secretary, DARE and Director General, ICAR inaugurated administrative building of Zonal Project Directorate, Zone-I, Ludhiana on 5th January, 2014. In his address, Dr. Ayyappan congratulated Dr. A. M. Narula, Zonal Project Director, Zone-I for construction of state of art building in short span of time and thanked Dr. B.S. Dhillon, Vice Chancellor, Punjab Agricultural University for providing land and other supports to the Zonal Project Directorate (ZPD), Zone-I. He expressed his happiness over the good collaboration and coordination of ZPD with state agricultural universities in the zone and said that Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs) contributed a lot in increased agricultural production in the country.

Dr. K. D. Kokate, Deputy Director General (Extension), ICAR said that construction of this building would further boost the performance of KVKs of Zone-I. Dr. K.M.L. Pathak, Deputy Director General (Animal Sciences), ICAR also praised the efforts of ZPD, Zone- 1.

Dr. V. K. Taneja, Vice Chancellor, Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Ludhiana; Zonal Project Directors; and Directors of DMR, Solan and CIPHET, Ludhiana were also present on the occasion. Earlier, Dr. A.M. Narula, welcomed the dignitaries and thanked the Vice Chancellor, PAU for being generous in providing support to the Directorate whenever required.

Scientists and officers from ICAR, New Delhi; Deans, Directors and senior officers of PAU and GADVASU; and Programme Coordinators as well as Subject Matter Specialists of KVKs of Zone-I participated in the function.
