International Tropical Fruits Network

International Tropical Fruits Network (TFNet) is an independent and self-financing network established under the auspices of Food and Agriculture Organisation(FAO) of the United Nations. It is both inter-governmental and inter institutional in nature, with the mandate and role to promote sustainable development of the tropical food industry in relation to production, consumption and trade. It is membership-based, with members acting through one lead agency on inter-country decisions, it is based in Malaysia. TFNet has 145 members from 38 countries, out of which 12 are country members: Bangladesh, China, Fiji, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Nigeria, Philippines, Sudan, Syria, Vietnam and Australia. It also has 15 associate members comprising of companies and organizations and 119 ordinary members.

Activities of TFNet include conducting consultancies and studies, project implementation, and organising workshops conferences and seminars, India is a permanent member of TFNet after paying US $ 5, 000 for life time membership ( one time contribution) .
