Union Minister of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare visited ICAR-CIRCOT, Mumbai
Shri. Radha Mohan Singh, Union Minister of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare visited ICAR-Central Institute of Research on Cotton Technology, Mumbai today and addressed the staff members of the Institute. He applauded the establishment of Nanocellulose Pilot Plant, first of its kind in India and fifth in the World. Agriculture Minister stressed that Skill Development programmes and the Research output of the institute should be beneficial to the farmers and emphasized that awareness about such activities should reach the stakeholders on real-time basis.
Agriculture Minister visited various research facilities, nanocellulose pilot plant and the exhibition hall of the Institute and also released 14 leaflets on the Skill Development programmes of the Institute.
Shri Chhabilendra Roul, Additional Secretary DARE and Secretary, ICAR in his address, expressed that the institute should focus on developing frontier technologies and give prominence to technology commercialization.
Dr.P.G.Patil, Director, ICAR-CIRCOT, briefed about the achievements of the Institute.
Senior Officials from ICAR Headquarters and ICAR Institutes were present on the occasion.
