JNKVV, Jabalpur Celebrated Golden Jubilee Year Convocation
Jawaharlal Nehru Krishi Vishwavidyalya (JNKVV), Jabalpur organized the 12th Convocation during Golden Jubilee year of the University in the gracious presence of Shri Pranab Mukherjee, Hon'ble President of India on 27th June, 2014.

In the Convocation Address as Chief Guest, Shri Mukherjee congratulated the university for grand accomplishments in the field of oilseeds, pulses, soybean, chickpea and seeds. He appreciated the agricultural growth rate of Madhya Pradesh with the statement that 1% growth rate in the field of agriculture is equal to 2-3% growth rate in other fields.
Shir Ram Naresh Yadav, Hon'ble Governor of Madhya Pradesh and Chancellor of the University emphasized upon the development and management of new class of skilled human resources for sustaining, diversifying and realizing the potentials of agriculture to convert the agriculture in to business of profit.
Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Chief Minister, Madhya Pradesh appreciated the efforts of the agricultural universities in the technological advancement and innovation in the field of agriculture and allied sectors. He informed that the current agricultural growth rate of the state has touched the figure of 24.99%. He also pointed that the Madhya Pradesh have got the Krishi Karman Award for two consecutive years for tremendous growth in agriculture.
Bharat Ratna Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, Former President of India and Padam Vibhushan Dr. M.S. Swaminathan, Former Director General, ICAR were also hounoured by the Honorary Degree of Doctor of Science on the occasion. Earlier, Prof. Vijay Singh Tomar, Vice Chancellor, JNKVV, Jabalpur welcomed the Chief Guest and other dignitaries and briefed about the activities of the university.
In the convocation, total 643 Bachelor's, 489 Master's and 21 Doctorate degrees were awarded with 22 gold medals.
