Additional Secretary, DARE & Secretary, ICAR delivered the Convocation Address of NDRI, Karnal
Shri Arvind Kaushal, delivered Convocation Address of National Dairy Research Institute, Karnal here today. He appreciated NDRI for its contribution in livestock rearing and production technologies for milk handling in a profitable way. In the past two decades, mainly due to the technological interventions of NDRI, milk production in India has doubled. He said that the Indian agriculture is viewed as a model by international community because of the collective efforts of farmers. He expressed concern regarding the deficiency of feeds and fodders, elite livestock germplasm and quality assurance of milk products. He also called upon all the degree recipients not to be complacent, as having a degree from NDRI will put more responsibility on their shoulders. He congratulated all the recipients of degrees, medals and merits certificates.
Degrees were awarded to 39 B.Tech., 130 Masters and 59 Ph.D. scholars. Dairy Microbiology Division was adjudged as Best Division. Best teacher awards for PG & UG and ‘Appreciation Letter’ for excellence in teaching were also awarded by the Chief Guest.
Dr. A.K. Srivastava, Director & Vice Chancellor, NDRI presented the progress report on the significant achievements of the institute. He also presented Gold Medals for Ph.D., Masters and B.Tech in addition to the silver and bronze medals in the same category. He congratulated all the graduating students, awardees and medalists.
Dr. K.M.L. Pathak, Deputy Director General (Animal Sciences), ICAR presented ‘Gold Medal for Best Thesis Research Work’ in the Production, Processing and Management Group and ‘Certificate for Best Thesis Research Work’ during masters programme.
Dr. K. D. Kokate, DDG (Agri. Extension), ICAR and Dr. Suresh S. Honappagol, Animal Husbandry Commissioner, Govt Of India presented the ‘Merit Certificates’ and “Appreciation Certificate(s)” to Doctoral and Masters students.
