Union Minister of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare visits ICAR-CIRB stall at CII Agro Tech 2016
Shri Radha Mohan Singh, Union Minister for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare visited ICAR-Central Institute for Research on Buffaloes, Hissar stall at Biennial Agro Technology & Business Fair – CII Agro Tech 2016 here today. Union Minister appreciated the efforts by ICAR-CIRB towards dissemination of farmer friendly technologies in simple manner.
Canadian Agriculture Minister, Mr. Jeff Leal along with his Deputy Mr. Deb Stark also visited ICAR-CIRB stall and took keen interest in buffalo and Institute activities.
Dr Inderjeet Singh, Director ICAR-CIRB in his talk at the KisanGoshthee, spoke about the importance of buffalo husbandry as an indigenous livestock species to dairy farming and to substantiate income of farmers of all strata – starting from landless, marginal and small farmers to commercial enterprises. He appealed the farmers to make the best profits from this activity high potential germplasm application, improved reproduction, balanced nutrition and constant contact with research and developmental organizations to derive the maximum advantage from government policies.
A large number of major global companies in agriculture took part in the exhibition. International farmers’ delegations from Australia, United Kingdom, The Netherlands, Sri Lanka and Argentina visited the exhibitions.
