Union Minister for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare inaugurates Kisan Mela-cum -Indian Agriculture Education Day at RPCAU, Pusa
Shri Radha Mohan Singh, Union Minister for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare inaugurated Kisan Mela-cum -Indian Agriculture Education Day at Dr. Rajendra Prasad Central Agricultural University, Pusa, Bihar today. In his address to farmers he explained benefits of different Centrally Sponsored Schemes viz.Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchai Yojana, Soil Heath Card, Organic Farming, Green White and Blue Revolution and eNAM etc. He requested farmers to take advantage of the schemes for enhancing their income and profitability.
Shri Singh unveiled statue of First President of India Dr Rajendra Prasad and first agriculture minister of India on the occasion of his birth anniversary. He announced that 3 December will be celebrated as Agriculture Education Day every year to pay tributes to the great leader and visionary. On this occasion, He also inaugurated Meteorological Data Display Unit, and laid foundation stones of six new buildings of University namely: Climate Change Study in Ganga Basin Centre Building, Horticulture and Forestry Department Building, Girls' Hostel, Extension of Fishery College Building, Laboratory Building of Fishery College, and Shopping Complex.
The Minister awarded the students for various activities of Agricultural Education Day.
