Shri Radha Mohan Singh, Union Minister of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare inaugurated Kisan Gosthi and Krishi Vikash Parve here today. In his inaugural address, Shri Singh emphasized on Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY) and other farmer welfare schemes of Government like Pradhan Mantri Sichai Yojana, Ujwala Yojana, Soil Health Card etc. He urged the farmers to take advantage of the schemes for enhancing their income and profitability. The Minister inaugurated Administrative Building of KVK, (ICAR-IIVR), Malhana, Deoria.

Shri Mahesh Giri, Member of Parliament, Delhi in his address, informed about the different Government welfare prgramme started for the farmers by the Government of India.
Dr. B. Singh, Director, ICAR-Indian Institute of Vegetable Research, Varanasi emphasized on importance of vegetable cultivation for profit, nutritional security and livelihood.
About 3000 farmers, farm women and rural youth from various part of Eastern Uttar Pradesh participated in this programme.
The programme was organized by ICAR-Indian Institute of Vegetable Research, Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Malhana, Deoria, KVK Kushinagar and National Horticultural Research and Development Foundation, Deoria Uttar Pradesh.
